What is Diversity?

Diversity refers to any and all of the various characteristics that make one individual different from another. The concept of Diversity moves beyond the basic differences of race and gender to encompass differences of all kinds. For our business, our goal is to have an approach that embraces diverse characteristics in a way that both engages and supports employees at all levels of the company, to foster the success of individuals and the success of our company.

What is the Rockwell Collins Diversity Strategy?

The overall business strategy is embedded into the guiding principles: Building a diverse environment through inclusion, collaboration and ownership, fueling innovation and a stronger company. Inclusion is the embracing and valuing of every individual. Collaboration is encouraging a free exchange of perspectives and ideas, creating solutions that lead to competitive advantage. Ownership is ensuring that every individual is personally responsible.

The strategic approach for embedding Diversity into our culture is to address three areas: People Diversity, Workplace Diversity and Marketplace Diversity.

People Diversity is focused on our ability to attract, build and retain a diverse workforce. Workplace Diversity is the creation of a work environment that encourages and accepts a free exchange of ideas and perspectives. Marketplace Diversity enables the development of innovative solutions to best serve our customers and other stakeholders.

What can Rockwell Collins do to affect diversity in the communities where we are located?

Rockwell Collins will continue to seek out opportunities to be involved in community discussions which address Diversity, whether through the Chambers of Commerce, organizations and events, involvement on the state level, or other initiatives. We are currently conducting community assessments in our other major RC locations.
